Is it a Sin to Gamble at New Slot Sites?

We have written about the dangers of gambling before, and pointed out that it is a sin. But how can it be, you may wonder, if it is not stipulated as such in the Bible. Keep in mind that there are a lot of activities that are not specifically pointed out in the bible as sins, but they are considered as such.

In this article we take a look at six key arguments that emphasise the fact that gambling and betting is a sin.

#1: It Leads to More Sin

Gambling at casinos will place you in a situation where you will be encouraged to drink. You may get drunk which could lead to gambling and betting all your money away. For more information on this reasoning, refer to James 1:14-15.

#2: It Leads to Idleness

In Proverbs 28:19 it clearly states that those who follow pointless fantasies instead of working hard will become very poor. As Christians, we have to work hard for what we have and in turn, we have to share it with those less fortunate.

#3: It Appears to be Evil

It is a common known fact that there is a stigma of crime and evilness that clings to gambling, casinos and online betting and wagering. The bible tells us to abstain from anything and everything that looks like it could be evil: 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

#4: It Lets You Lose Trust in the Lord

The bible tells us that God will provide for us. By engaging in gambling and betting activities, we are ignoring this and placing trust within ourselves. Gambling lets us rely on our understanding of luck and wagering: Proverbs 3:5.

#5: It Could Make You Love Money

As Christians, we are not to be in want of more money, as this is in essence greed. Greed is considered to be one of the seven deadly sins. By loving money, and wanting more by gambling whenever you can, you are sinning: Ecclesiastes 5:10.

#6: It Leads to Greed

As mentioned, greed is one of the seven deadly sins. If you entertain the thought of gambling and participate in the act thereof, you fall prey to this sin. Wanting more than what the Lord has given is a sin: Luke 12:15.

As you can see from the references we have used here, the bible is clear on any activity that can lead to greed and sloth. If we are to be true Christians who follow our faith with diligence and place our trust in the Lord, we are not to gamble at all. For more inspirational content, visit the Bible Gateway site.

Brand new sites can help with charity work

The brand new slot sites can be hard not to like, no matter how strong your faith it. Even though we had listed here all the reasons why gambling might be considered as a sin, we still recognize the possibilities the new slot sites can open for us as Christians. You see, when we play in order to win for charity causes it cannot be considered as sin. If you decide to become an online casino player, you must give out all the possible winnings to charity work either to your church or to some other non-profitable organization. This way you’ll have an actual chance of making more good than you would have with the original amount you were going to donate for charity.
