Facility Hire
St Peter’s Church is situated at the centre of Hextable village and has a number of rooms and halls available for hire to the local community.
As a Christian organisation, all lettings are subject to strict compliance with moral decency and social responsibility. We also operate a good neighbour policy and do not permit hirers to play music after 10:30 pm nor allow them to continue any event past 11pm.
The facilities available are briefly described below and may be viewed by prior appointment. Please contact the Church Office to arrange a visit or for further information including costs and terms and conditions.
Front Hall
Situated in the newer part of the building, this hall is hexagonal and includes a 12” high carpeted platform to the front; the rest of the floor is of polished hardwood blocks. The hall has a light modern appearance and is the main worship area of the church. It measures approximately 58’ diameter (between opposite walls) and can seat a maximum of 250 people. Tubular stacking chairs are included.
Back Hall
This hall is situated in the older part of the building and measures approximately 24’ by 42’. The hall has a solid linoleum floor and a high vaulted ceiling.
Lounge
Situated in the new part of the building and leading from the foyer, this is a carpeted area of irregular shape, about half of which comprises an area approximately 25’ square. A number of coffee tables with associated soft seating are included. It should be noted that the area is not separately enclosed and users will not be screened from people accessing the foyer, chapel, office or front hall. As well as possible use for small group meetings, it also serves well as a waiting room or preparation area for activities in another area (eg. Front Hall).
Back Room
Situated in the older part of the building, the room is carpeted and brightly decorated being used regularly for children’s events. It functions as a crèche for the church and is used daily by the kindergarten. The main floor area is approximately 16’ by 22’.
Kitchen
Situated in the older part of the building, the kitchen provides facilities for preparing refreshments and washing up. Included are a gas oven, a microwave oven and a large water boiler (urn). Users are responsible for providing their own crockery, cutlery etc.
Sound System
A portable sound system is available at extra cost. The system comprises two microphones (with leads and stands), CD player, cassette player and inputs for musical instruments (eg. keyboard, guitar, etc). For technical information contact the Church Office.
The period of hire is deemed to be the same as that of the booked accommodation in which it is to be used and not just for the intended period of use.
A (returnable) deposit is required against loss or damage.
The installed sound system in the main hall is not available for hire.
Chairs
Chairs are not included in bookings other than for the Main Hall and Lounge, but can usually be made available elsewhere without charge by prior agreement (only). They may not be used nor moved between rooms without prior authorisation.

Tables can usually be made available without charge, but only by prior agreement. They may not be used nor moved between rooms without prior authorisation.
